Rogers LaCaze

Rogers has spent 24 years in a six-foot-by-nine-foot cell on death row in Angola. He was connected to us through exoneree Rodricus Crawford who went on tour with this project in fall 2018. Roger’s first garden on Andry Street is already growing baby carrots and poppies and was only seeded in November 2018.

“Thank you so very much for including me in this wonderful project! I had fun with it even though I cant draw a lick! ...I have been on deathrow for 24 years. Being confined to cell is the absolute worst. Please continue to educate the people out there.”
